New pastures in Lewes

Having moved to Lewes in East Sussex last year, I am seeking out like minded - or not! - new arty friends. This area is so rich with wonderful galleries and artistic locations (of which Charleston Farmhouse with its Bloomsbury group is the outstanding local example) that I am finding inspiration everywhere.

I was delighted to be offered a Guest Artist slot at the lovely Chalk Gallery in Lewes shortly after arriving here.  This was a great experience which I would like to repeat.

My new studio is a fabulous, light filled attic room with views over the Downs.  I spend much time here colour mixing, studying, playing around with materials and ideas as well as painting.  Although oil paint is my favourite medium due to its delicious rich texture and sumptuous colours, I also enjoy experimenting with gouache, collage and especially pen and ink drawing.
